Nick Cherukuri (born 7 Aug 1994-) is an American author. He was born in Princeton, NJ and currently lives in Cranbury, NJ. The High School Junior attends the prestigious Lawrenceville School, a private boarding school located in Lawrence, NJ and is a high-honor student. Cherukuri began writing at a young age; he was a staff writer at both his middle and high-school newspapers and his articles were almost always geared toward History, his main passion. Magical Maya is the first book in the Adventures of Bobby and Eli series and was published in 2011. His other activities include active participation in his Boy Scouts Troop, Golf and working on his next novel. The book comes under several genres- History, Fiction, Mystery but primarily Magical Maya- Adventures of Bobby and Eli, is a book about the Ancient Mayans. The book explores many areas of the Mayans, most notably their advancements in astronomy, engineering and medicine, subjects that are largely left untouched by other his/fiction authors. The book details the journey of two brothers who get transported to the time of the Mayans. The brothers, through living side-by-side with Mayans, learn about their lifestyle and social problems. Magical Maya also touches on the colonization of Central and South America and brings to light this clash of civilizations. Overall, the book has received excellent reviews and is a fit for "anyone who wishes to learn about the Mayans." Magical Maya is a 120 pages in length and will appeal to anyone interested in learning about the Mayans, one of the most advanced yet mysterious civilizations in history. Interest in 2012 has piqued attention toward this civilization and toward the book. All proceeds from the book go to "Books for Bodhi", a non-profit foundation founded by Cherukuri as part of his Eagle project.
