Tsehai Publishers

Tsehai Publishers and Distributors is a publishing company founded with the intention of spreading currently absent knowledge about underserved communities, such as the African Diaspora.

Founded: Los Angeles, 1998

Founder and CEO: Elias Wondimu

The founder
Books on Africa and the Diaspora experience were not readily available to Wondimu as a young man growing up in Ethiopia. It was this void that propelled Elias to establish a publishing company with the simple objective of making scholarly publications on a wide variety of disciplines and subjects available to the greatest possible audience.
•Wondimu also established the Ethiopian Institute for Nonviolence Education and Peace Studies which hosts the annual Tsehai conferences on the State of Ethiopian Affairs and the Diaspora.
•He is one of four founders of the African Global Market Enterprise, which seeks to help African businesses get around expensive middle men who profit from the global economy.
•His Ethiopian Heritage Foundation will soon fund libraries in Addis Ababa so that younger generations hungry for knowledge will find books published by Tsehai and distributed through the economic infrastructure that benefits members of the African Diaspora.
•In September, 2007, Wondimu was appointed Ambassador for Peace by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) and the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace (IIFWP).
