Nichole Rhodes (born January 2) is an international marketing strategist and television news journalist. Rhodes is the founder and managing partner of The Rhodes Global Group. Rhodes is an executive international relationship manager with extensive experience in emerging markets, new business development, business strategy, media relations, branding, marketing, and public relations. Personal life Rhodes grew up in Commerce Township in Oakland County, Michigan. At age 3, she began studying ballet winning multiple national dance competitions and later being honored with a ballet scholarship during her undergraduate years. Rhodes will graduate from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in March 2010 with a Masters in International Law & Diplomacy. She graduated from Oakland University with a BA degree in Communications and a focus on the French language. Career Before founding The Rhodes Global Group, Rhodes was a television news producer and journalist with UPN 50, CBS and WDIV-TV NBC Detroit. Rhodes is an executive international relationship manager with extensive experience in emerging markets, new business development, business strategy, media relations, branding, marketing, and public relations. Strategically advising top emerging market companies and government entities in global marketing strategy, revenue and service growth models, brand creation, partnerships, convergence marketing, public relations and advertising. She began her career in broadcast journalism at NBC in Detroit, Michigan where she worked as the Senior Political Producer to former NBC News White House Correspondent Emery King. After reporting on the 2004 Presidential election, she parlayed into her role as an investigative journalist reporting both domestically and internationally. After leaving NBC in April 2006, Rhodes began focusing on Energy, Advanced Technologies, and cleantech initiatives with client General Motors Corporation where she directed global campaigns for hydrogen & hybrid vehicles, and composed highly strategic marketing and PR platforms for public-private partnerships including projects with the Pentagon, US Army, US Marines, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the US Postal Service (USPS). While with General Motors, Rhodes also produced global convergence marketing campaigns with celebrities including Tiger Woods, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and brands including Hummer, Saturn, Cadillac, Buick, and Chevrolet. In December 2007, Rhodes expanded her global grasp to the MENA region and more specifically the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where she began working on a 50-million dollar international sustainability engagement called “The Blue Communities” in Dubai with Mega Developer Nakheel under the Patronage of the Crown Prince of Dubai. Projects to follow in 2008 included comprehensive branding and marketing strategy with the Dubai Export Development Corporation, negotiation of a partnership for Abu Dhabi developer Sorouh’s global branding initiatives with the Arab Media Group (AMG) where she secured multi-million dollar in-kind coverage of Sorouh projects with AMG’s GCC English daily publication Business 24/7 and Arabic daily Al Bayan. In 2009, Rhodes directed a global marketing and public relations campaign with thought leaders including Stephen Hawking, Vicente Fox, Peter Buffett and Sheik Nahayan of Abu Dhabi. In January 2009, Rhodes was invited by Abu Dhabi’s Masdar to attend the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi where she reported on the event from ADNEC with companies including Exxon Mobil, Ricardo, TDIC, and BP. At the 2009 World Economic Forum in Davos, Rhodes garnered a prize from Brand South Africa's International Marketing Council as a supporter and ambassador of South African Spirit and Investment.
