Nicholas Miccarelli III

Nicholas "Nick" Miccarelli III, born June 10, 1982, is a Republican politician, Kosovo and Iraq War veteran, and current candidate for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, District 162.

Personal
Miccarelli grew up in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Political Science after transferring from Temple University.

Military
Miccarelli is a Staff Sergent in the Pennsylvania National Guard First City Troop and was deployed to Kosovo in 2001, where he was awarded the Army Achievement Medal. In October 2005, Miccarelli volunteered to Ramadi, Iraq for four months, where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.

Miccarelli was the youngest National Guardsman to be promoted to Staff Sergeant in Ramadi.

Political
In 2005, Miccarelli was elected as National Co-Chairman of the College Republican National Committee. In 2006, he was elected to Ridley Park City Council. He has served as the Chief of Staff to Representative Ron Raymond, and is currently a candidate for the retiring representative's seat, running against John Defrancisco. "The Pork Report" named the contest one of 6 "races to watch" in Southeast PA, and gave the edge to Miccarelli.
