New Release Tuesday, commonly abbreviated as NRT, is an online Christian music community. Artists and record labels advertise on the site to provide visitors with free music previews, contests and prize redemption. History New Release Tuesday was founded in 2002 as a directory for weekly releases of contemporary Christian music which were normally released on Tuesday. Over time, additional features were added to the site such as a weekly music preview, a points store and a radio station. The site also has an annual "Football Bash" music event with tiGroups such as Red and Worth Dying For Services Online radio New Release Tuesday offers an online radio known as NRTradio with minimal advertising at 128 kbit/s. The station only plays new music most of the time, and it claims to have a playlist of over eight hours. There are sometimes "Classic Rewinds" which are older songs. During the weekend, syndicated programs such as 20 The Countdown Magazine and Weekend 22 play during Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The Sunday Morning Drive, as its name suggests, plays during Sunday mornings. Points store The points store at New Release Tuesday is a free loyalty program that allows site users to redeem points for merchandise. Points are earned at no cost in exchange for tasks such as writing music reviews or participating in an NRT event.
