Netypsy
Just Like Gypsy is a term for geographical wanderer - who stays in no one place but does come back at different times of the year.
Netypsy is used for someone on the net who uses one service say yahoo for mails and then keeps on hoping from one service to another and then once a time is back on the same service.
Another e.g. say you use Gtalk as your messenger and then shift to skype and then to yahoo and then back to Gtalk before moving again. You'll lead a life of a Netypsy.
There are many Netypsy in the current times when people whom we call as early adopters try new sites everyday just to look for something new. The best example of Netypsies around you are people who have multiple email ids.
Characteristics of a Netypsy
- Such people are never a part of any loyalty program
- Will have ids in almost all kinds of services and will portray them to be an active user of each one of them
Risk to a Netypsy
- Although being a Netypsy is not a serious psychological disorder but such people generally suffer from a short attention span,
-Netypsies are known to end up spending unnecessary on new services which they seldom use. This at times leads to frustration.
Usage History :
The term is widely used in daily lingo on Facebook as people who have moved to use Facebook as their prefencial site for Social Networking over their old favorite orkut are commonly called as Netyspy as they still go once a while on Orkut.
Netypsy also featured as the most upcoming used new internet words pubished to mark the end of 2009.
