ImpressingRoom.com was one of the original social networking sites founded in 2000 by thirty4 interactive LLC. In terms of recent social networking sites, it had a small community peaking around 2,000 members during its prime. It contained categories for boys, girls, cars, art and pets. Users could rate and comment on photos. It was owned and maintained by several users throughout it's time. Currently while there is not hosting, the domain is currently parked until January 10, 2009. Original site The original site was founded, owned and operated by Mitch in 2000. The project lasted roughly a year ending in 2001 and was then abandoned without much information to the users. The reason given was a combination of lack of funds and overwhelming overhead to maintain the project. It was later picked up by Richard Thompson in 2002. Current State While hosted on Richard's personal website, deepabyss, the idea of revamping impressingroom was brought to the attention of the remaining users through a forum post. Ideas were proposed and either noted or rejected however nothing materialized from the discussions. At the end of 2005, hosting was canceled and the domain remained parked until early 2007 when it was acquired by a former member of the web site named "swooka".
