Neda Behnam

Neda Behnam (born April 28, 1966) is a New York jewelry designer.
Biography

She was born in Tehran, Iran, the daughter of a merchant family dealing with import and export of oriental rugs, diamonds and pearls, among other commodities. Educated at a private school until the age of 11 and then moved to New York in April 1978. Neda attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1984 and 1985 to study jewelry design. While doing so, she apprenticed with a talented goldsmith and jewelry designer based in SoHo New York, who taught her the ancient art of granulation and creating 22-karat gold works of art and antique replicas. She left FIT before graduating to pursue her career, which eventually led to designing jewelry for home shopping appearing on ShopNBC.
Designs

An expert goldsmith, Neda designs the SoHo Boutique collection as her signature line. Her collection is noted for designs inspired by wonders of nature as well as animal and floral themes adorned with gold finishes and textures and distinctly shaped diamonds and gemstones. Unique statement pieces range from a 14K Rose Gold Colored Sapphire, Diamond & Green Garnet Flying Pig Ring to an 18K Gold 6.25" Yellow & Gray 11.18ct Diamond Bangle Bracelet. Each of her pieces is handmade or hand-finished in 14K, 18K, or 22K gold by expert craftsmen and goldsmiths. Throughout her designs, Neda honors the ancient art of goldsmithing while capturing an elegant style full of modern appeal.
