Group for the Scientific Reappraisal of the HIV-AIDS Hypothesis

The Group for the Scientific Reappraisal of the HIV/AIDS Hypothesis is a group of AIDS denialists (that is, people who do not accept the scientific consensus that HIV is the cause of AIDS). In a 1995 letter to the editor published in Science, the group argued that the causative role of HIV in AIDS was unproven and requested an "independent" audit of the Centers for Disease Control records on the AIDS pandemic.
Signatories to the letter included writer Tom Bethell, editor Harvey Bialy, scientist Peter Duesberg, journalist Celia Farber, and intelligent design proponent Phillip Johnson. The role of the group in promoting AIDS denialism has been discussed in several publications.
