Navid Ostadian-Binai

Navid Ostadian-Binai (born September 23, 1983) is a technology leader, philanthropist and investor, born in Iran, raised in Scandinavia, and currently residing in London, UK.
Early life
He was born to Iranian parents of Azerbaijani descent in Ardebil, Iran, and the family moved to Norway when he was six. After studying at and University of California, Berkeley, he moved to Copenhagen, Denmark and finalized his studies at . In 2008, Aram Ostadian and Navid Binai-Faal got married in the historic in Copenhagen city center, moved to Charlottenlund and both took the new surname Ostadian-Binai. Mr. and Mrs. Ostadian-Binai relocated to London, UK, in September 2012.
Career
Technology Ventures
In 2006, Navid Ostadian-Binai started his professional career working for venture-backed Danish semiconductor startups such as Hymite (patents acquired by ICAP) and Sonion MEMS (acquired by Pulse Engineering, and subsequently by Epcos). In 2008, he joined IPtronics, which had been founded by former executives and engineers at GIGA, acquired by Intel Corporation for USD 1.25 billion in year 2000. Ostadian-Binai was the first technical employee at IPtronics without a background from GIGA or Intel. In January, 2013, Navid Ostadian-Binai made an angel investment in IPtronics.
In September, 2012, Navid Ostadian-Binai joined Cogniance as Business Development Manager for the EMEA region and to set up its UK office.
In November, 2012, he also became Contributing Writer at Brand+Commercial, Mentor at Healthbox Accelerator, and Mentor at DTU AppGarage.
Philanthropy and Community Development
In 2010, he was accepted into , an international organization for young active professionals. In October 2011, he founded the Copenhagen Chapter of the startup networking organization Silicon Vikings, which builds bridges between Silicon Valley and the Nordic countries (including the Baltic states). He is currently the Executive Chairman of this chapter.
Navid Ostadian-Binai is a frequent personality in the startup communities of London and Copenhagen.
