Alberto Santofimio Hernandez Born: Colombia Date:1973 Mr Alberto Santofimio Hernandez, older son of former justice minister, senator and presidencial candidate in Colombia. Graduated from Colegio Santarsicio in 1990. He went to do his colleges studies in Palm Beach Atlantic College and later went to study in the university of Boston in 1992. In 1996 he moved to Montreal to do undergraduate studies in Poliical Science, International Relations at Concordia University. After finishing the studies in 2000,he did a secondary studies on International Trade and management at Concordia University. In July 2002, he married with university classmate, Zakia Nabbus. In 2003 he was appointed by president Alvaro Uribe Velez as the head of the commercial office of Colombia in France. He worked as commercial attache until his resignation in 2006. During his 4 years in Paris he organized a mission of French companies that later participated in a business round in Cartagena and where the most sucessfull delegation of all european countries. He took studies with the foreign ministry of Holland on trade barriers as part of a congress of commercial attaches of developing countries in Rotterdam in 2002 and 2003. He underwent an acreditation program with PROEXPORT in Geneva in 2004 under the Colombian delegation at the WTO. In 2006,when he moved back to Montreal,He founded with long time friend an former ambassador and carreer diplomat Fabio Avella, an International trade and business development office Calatrade Inc. Later that year Mr. Santofimio took over the company as Mr.Avella retired from all activities that year. Since 2006, Calatrade has been exporting chiken parts to China and Vietnam from numerous plants in South America and Canada. Today, after more than 600,000 kilos of exported goods,he has founded CLT Colombia SAS as subsidiary and has also an office in Hong Kong. In 2008 his first daughter was born in Montreal, named Rania and his first son will be born in winter of 2010.
