NatureCare is a brand of homeopathic pharmaceuticals manufactured and distributed by Rowell Laboratories, Inc. of Orlando, Florida, with the NatureCare trademark issued by the US Patent and Trademark Office. The NatureCare brand includes 2 products: NatureCare AF, a topical antifungal cream, whose active ingredient is zinc sulfate (potency 3x), and NatureCare Silver, a homeopathic anti-infective cream, or natural "antibiotic" whose active ingredient is metalic silver (potency 3x). Both products' active ingredients are prepared according to the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States. Homeopathic products gain their potency through a series of successive dilutions, 1x, 2x, etc., while retaining the curative characteristics of their active ingredients. NatureCare homeopathic pharmaceuticals are prescribed primarily through homeopathic and naturopathic physicians, giving their patients an alternative medical solution to current prescription pharmaceuticals and antibiotics. The brand is also sold over-the-counter through pharmacies, and through health food stores. The technology used in the base of these products is protected by United States Patent 7163709, issued in 2007, but has been in use for more than 10 years prior in the agriculture industry as a chemical free alternative to control pathogens in agriculture. While not patented earlier, the technology was protected as a closely held trade secret. In the NatureCare product line, the technology is used to adjust pH, while removing the burning characteristics on human skin. While there are numerous third party studies supporting the premise that a low-pH solution is in fact bactericidal and fungicidal, only Rowell Laboratories has a pharmaceutical product in which the low-pH is actually non burning. This technology is used in the NatureCare brand of products where the low-pH moisturizing base softens the skin, lowers the pH at the application site, thus creating an environment at the area of application that is hostile to the pathogen, while the homeopathic active ingredient is the anti-infective component which is active against the pathogens. Numerous pharmaceutical products on the market today in the United States use a low-pH base or solution to create an environment where the active ingredient can prove more efficient in its effectiveness.
