Nathan Wright Jr

Nathan Wright, Jr. (born September 25, 1978) was born at Edina, Minn., but raised in San Diego, California. His father, Nate Wright Sr., played football for the the Minnesota Vikings and San Diego State University..
Collegiate career
Wright played high school football and basketball for Point Loma High School in San Diego County, California. In December 1996, Wright committed to a football scholarship offer from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Wright played college football as a cornerback for the Colorado Buffaloes from 1998 to 2000.
Highlights from his career:
2000: Wright was a starter in one game and played in six games overall, including three on defense. He missed the final five games of the season due to injury. He was in on nine tackles (seven solo) for the year. He missed all of spring practice recovering from January surgery on his shoulder.
1999: Wright missed the first three games due to injury. He was a starter in one game (against Oklahoma) and appeared in nine games (nine on special teams and six on defense), which included the Insight.com Bowl. He was in for 128 snaps for the season, totaling 10 tackles (seven solo), with two for losses, two third down stops, a forced fumble and a pass deflection. All of his tackle statistics occurred in the Oklahoma game, where he played every snap (75 in all). He also caught a pass for 21 yards and a first down from Gabe Leonard on a fake punt against Nebraska. In spring game, he returned an interception for 48 yards.
1998: He started one game (against Iowa State) and appeared in eight games, including the Aloha Bowl. He was sidelined early in the season after breaking a bone in his hand during summer workouts. Despite his injury, he was in for 75 snaps and made seven tackles (six solo). On defense, he had three third down stops and two pass deflections. He also had six special team points, from four tackles (one inside-the-20), and a knockdown block. He sustained an injury to his heel after crashing a rented moped in December 1998.
1997: Wright redshirted. He practiced the entire season at cornerback until shoulder surgery in November 1997.
Professional career
Wright was employed at the University of Colorado at Boulder's Office of Admissions. He began as an admission counselor and become an assistant director, a senior assistant director and, finally, a director. He was next employed by the College of Engineering and Applied Science where he drafted grant applications and other materials.
Wright is currently employed as the Director of Marketing and Recruitment at the University of Denver School of Engineering & Computer Science.
