Nathan Hughes

Nathan Hughes is a British comedy writer for TV and theatre, born Nathan Lee Whitworth on 6 February 1979 in North Hykeham, Lincolnshire, England. He first came to attention with the comedy/horror short The Day You Die.

Nathan's first produced work came as the result of a competition run by
ITV Meridian Broadcasting in 2002. His entry The Day You Die was produced and screened in a channel showcase and in front of full length films. His second film, Sidings was screened at the Portobello Film Festival in 2004 as was his later offering, the 2006 erotic comedy/horror short Terminal.

Also a semi-prolific writer for theatre, his fifth full-length play The Monday Morning Riots opened at the Charles Cryer Theatre in Carshalton on the 30th May 2008. It was originally staged at the Boston Blackfriars Arts Centre (in his home county of Lincolnshire) in March 2007.

Prior to this he wrote for local professional and amateur theatre
groups and for the Nottingham Playhouse.
