Samuel Gonzalez Jr.

Samuel Gonzalez Jr. is an American Independent film director and Iraq War Veteran.
Biography
Early life
Gonzalez was born on July 15, 1985 in The Bronx, NY to Catholic parents. At an early age his family relocated to Orlando, FL. He attended Florida Air Academy and Forest Lake Academy where he graduated in 2003.
Iraq War
In january 2006 Gonzalez enlisted in the U.S. Army during the turmoil of the September 11th terrorist attacks. He completed his basic combat training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri of that year and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington soon after. He was quickly deployed to the Iraq War where he was awarded the ARCOM medal with valor for bravery under fire during a night time ambush on the streets of baghdad, Iraq, where his best friend was killed.
Film career
Gonzalez began documenting his day to day experiences during the Iraq War ".
with cameras sent to him from his family back home. In 2009 he wrote, produced and directed his first short film Reverie which premiered at Tribeca Cinemas in NYC. The Brooklyn Daily Eagle stated on there front page release, "Local soldier brings Hollywood Reverie to Brooklyn". Gonzalez is currently in post production on his first full length feature film.
Personal life
Gonzalez currently resides and works out of New York City with his wife. He is an active guitar player and frequently enjoys classic horror films.
