Nathan Helmut Carriage

Nathan Helmut Carriage (Born 27th of April 1946) is an Aboriginal elder from the Wiradjuri Tribe in Wagga Wagga. He has been teaching the ways of the Aboriginal Arts specialising in music. His skills with the Didgeridoo have earned him a great name amongst the Aboroginal community. He was given the tribal name "koolpurrie" which means emu in his native tongue.

Early life.


Growing up in the harsh terrain of Canberra with his mother and younger brother taught him a lot of lifes lessons. At the young age of 18 he became a man in his community for spearing his first goat.

Current life.


He has started visiting school to teach the youth about the heritage and ways of the aboriginals that first inhabited Australia
