Nathan Delfouneso

Nathan Delfouneso (born February 2, 1991 in Tyseley, Birmingham) is a professional player who currently plays for Aston Villa in the FA Premier League, as a striker.

Delfouneso is a player who is considered a huge talent at Aston Villa, and is currently a regular for both the club's Reserves and Academy teams. He is a player who is regarded in the mould of current Villa striker Luke Moore, in that he is tall, quick, powerful and has a natural eye for goal. These qualities earned him a debut for the Reserve team in March 2007 - just a month after turning 16. In October 2007, he scored his first goal for the Reserves in a 1-1 draw with Reading.

In June 2007, it was reported that Aston Villa had offered a contract to Delfouneso with the view to a professional deal as soon as he reaches the age of 17.

Defouneso was also a regular for the England U16 team - collecting 8 caps and scoring 3 goals during this period, all 3 were scored in the 2006 Victory Shield.

In October 2007, Delfouneso marked his debut for the England U17 team with a hat-trick in a 6-0 victory over Malta.

The U-17 team continued there run of form with another 6-0 over Estonia on 23rd October 2007, with Delfouneso bagging another.

Personal life

Nathan Delfouneso was born in the Tyseley area of Birmingham. He attended Ninestiles School during his Secondary education.
