Naomi Ballantyne

Naomi Ballantyne is a well known New Zealand business woman with strong involvement in the insurance industry. She was a founding member of Sovereign Insurance and rose through the ranks to become the Chief Operational Officer. During this time Sovereign Insurance grew to become the largest life assurer in New Zealand with a 52% market share.Sovereign Insurance was purchased by ASB Bank in 1999 at which time Ballantyne left this highly paid job to become the first woman in the world to found her own life assurance company, Club Life. Club Life opened in July 2001, and quickly took 3% of the market. ING purchased Club Life in early 2004 and re-branded the firm ING Life. Ballantayne resigned as Chief Executive Officer in mid-2009.
Ballantayne established in early 2010 Us Advice. The company runs on a brokerage model, and is based in Albany, Auckland, New Zealand. Subsequently, in December 2010, it was announced that Ballantyne would be setting up a new NZ life insurance company.
