Nancy Shevell is a member of the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York. She has been dating Paul McCartney since November, 2007. McCartney's first public appearance with Shevell was in September, 2008, at a photography exhibition which included photos by McCartney's daughter Mary.
Career Shevell is the Vice President of Administration of the The Shevell Group of Companies, a family-controlled transportation conglomerate which includes New England Motor Freight. Shevell has held that position since 1986. In 2001, New York Governor George Pataki appointed Shevell to the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. In 2004, Shevell was appointed as Chairperson of the Capital Construction Committee of the MTA, a committee responsible for overseeing $10 billion worth of MTA construction projects.
Personal Life Shevell is legally separated from her husband Bruce Blakeman, who is a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. McCartney and Shevell have been photographed holidaying together, in the Caribbean and on a romantic road trip along Route 66. Shevell is a second cousin of Barbara Walters, a noted detractor of McCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills.
