Modernage is an indie rock band from Miami, Florida in 2003. The lineup consists of Mario Giancarlo (vocals), Xavier Alexander (guitar, keys), Garcia Freundt (guitars, keys), Roberto Moriel (bass) and Sean Perscky (drums). As both a band and with their individual DJ gigs, the members names have been slathered across glossy flyers for popular party nights. Since having formed in 2003, the bands sound has evolved from something somber to something dance-oriented. With the release of their EP Receiver, the quintet has earned opening spots for Bloc Party, the Stills, the Walkmen and Elefant.
The 2003 debut Receiver EP served to establish the quintet in the fledgling Miami indie scene. The music videos for singles "Four Eleven' and 'Bella' were in rotation on MTV3, MUN2 Television and in South America. For the following few years the band toured the state of Florida, Los Angeles, New York, Baltimore, and Mexico building a fan base.
In December 2006, the band released 'Strangers/This Song' as a double A-side single. After a quiet 2007, the band reemerged at Miami's White Room on 2/19/08 debuting a new set list. They have begun work on their next record which is due for release in May 2008.
