Myrk

Myrk () is a derogatory term commonly used in Kyrgyzstan used by the wealthier people of Kyrgyzstan, referring to a poor, uneducated Kyrgyz person from the province living in the city of Bishkek. It is a synonym for the word, mambet which is used in Kazakhstan, haryp In Uzbekistan, redneck in the United States, and gopnik or bydlo in Russia.
History
The word myrk originates from the term myryk kishi which is a very old Kyrgyz way of calling a person with a congested nose who talks through it. Some time later, the term came to describe the people who lack manners and are usually rude, regardless of where they are from. The new meaning of myrk refers to the ones with poor knowledge of Russian language, who dress a certain way, and are usually in one of the places.
Definition
People classified as myrks usually range from ages 13-40, due to the fact that people below 13 are considered kids, and people above 40, would be considered the older generation, and it would simply be rude for the youth to insult them.
Appearance
The stereotypical myrk much like the Russian gopnik dresses in full Adidas sweat suit, or just the sweatpants along with any t-shirt, dress shoes and a hat worn precisely on the tip of the head. Other modern day myrks can often be spotted in leather jackets, baseball caps, usually with sunflower seed or cigarettes in their hands. Myrks are usually dark skinned, with dark hair. The typical modern day myrk, hangs out in public areas, such as shopping centers and the Main Square.
The stereotypical myrk loves taking pictures of himself, usually with guns, knives, alcohol and with his fellow myrks. Whistling to random people on the street, spitting on the sidewalks and picking on random strangers for their own entertainment.
