Monica Alcorano

Monica Alcorano is a 20 year old singer/songwriter and model. She was born in Tottenham, London to Italian and Greek heritage. She began to sing at the age of 7 in her school choir, as she grew into her teens she began to compete in and win talent contests in the local area. At 14, Monica was signed to a local production company giving her the opportunity to write and record her own original works whilst getting experience performing in local clubs and venues.
Monica then enrolled in the Amersham and Wycombe performing arts college at the age of 16. It was there she was scouted by an Italian management company and label who brought her over to Rome to work with producers and gain studio experience.
After much touring, Monica caught the attention of OD Hunte, a producer/songwriter who has worked with the likes of Emeli Sandae, Missy Elliot, Leona Lewis, Wretch 32 and EA Sports and is also signed to EMI Publishing. The producer signed her to a development deal which is said to include; creation of original music, original videos, studio covers, one-take videos of covers, professional photo shoots and assistance with branding for building fan base and promotional purposes.

The partnership has so far spawned a studio cover of one of OD's tracks and two original tracks co-written by the pair. One of the original tracks entitled 'Touch Is Gold' is being promoted as the first single from Monica's upcoming EP 'The Monica Alcorano EP' due for release in September 2014.'Touch Is Gold' is due for release July 13th 2014 with a video shot in Tenerife and edited all by its producer and co-writer OD Hunte.
Monica has also appeared on the popular ITV dating show 'Take Me Out'. Episodes featuring Monica were shot during November/December 2013 and aired on ITV from January 2014. When asked about the show she noted that "It was great to be on TV and get used to being on camera.".
