T.Jay

T.Jay is a singer/songwriter/producer and multi-instrumentalist from the UK.
T.Jay began performing at an early age in local rock bands until setting out as a solo performer on the hard club circuit of the North East.
After coming to the attention of UK Radio & TV presenter Chris Evans, T.Jay was asked to perform on his massively popular prime time TV show TFI Friday where he sang an acoustic version of “Angel” by Aretha Franklin
Promptly after this, T.Jay was offered several major recording opportunities which brought him to London where he eventually worked on his album with ex-Another Level member Wayne Williams.
Although a great experience for him, musically it was not for him and he soon decided to pursue other opportunities.
As a Writer & Producer T.Jay soon found working for the successful London based production company Intrusion.
This teaming generated some great songs and productions and also several cuts, including “No” on the 3x platinum album with German Idol winners Monrose.
During this time he also began writing & producing Library music for TV through KPM at EMI Music. His clients included
MTV, VH1, Australian Soap Neighbours, FOX, Sky TV, Oprah, the BBC, ITV channel 4 and many more.
Shortly after T.Jay was commissioned by Talent TV (Who Wants to be a Millionaire and more ) to write the music for a prime time ITV show Viewer of the year hosted by Kate Thornton.
In 2006 T.Jay signed to Domino Publishing, 2007 to London based JA ! Management and landed his first No 1 Single with the 2008 Australian Idol winner Wes Carr
The winner's single "You" was released as a digital download on 23 November 2008. "You" debuted on the ARIA Charts at #3 based solely on digital downloads. The CD single was released on December 3.
After its physical release, "You" moved up one spot to #2 on the ARIA Singles Chart in its second week on the charts, missing out on the #1 spot by only 11 units, with Lady GaGa's "Poker Face" managing to take the ARIA top spot for another week. The single reached the #1 position in its third week, and was then dislodged again, back to the number 2 spot, by Lady GaGa the following week. "You" was certified Gold in its second week on the charts and Platinum in its fourth week.
"You" also became an Aria “Singles” award winner
Following this success, T.Jay was asked to co-write and produce Wes Carr's album, The Way the World Looks, which was released in March 2009 (Sony Music).
T.Jay is represented by JA! Management London.
