Mohanalakshmi is a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist. She founded Kidspreneur in 2012 and since then has been mentoring the ideas of young entrepreneurs and innovators, transforming them into profitable business models. Recognising and nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset right from their young age, she founded KIDx Asia in 2018. In addition to being a serial entrepreneur she is also the chairman (Asia Pacific) of the Global Entrepreneur Council. Education Mohanalakshmi received her Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from the University of Madras in distance education, and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) from the University of Sunderland UK. She then completed her Management studies at Management Development Institute of Singapore. Early Career Starting her career early, Mohanalakshmi worked in guest management department and later as an accounts manager for a UK company in India. She gained immense knowledge while working as Digital Marketer, Brand Manager commercialisation and product development in Singapore. While working on her research project, the Government of Singapore extended help to build and nurture Children’s business project in Singapore. She later on became a member of Spring Singapore, a resource hub for entrepreneurs and investors dedicated to building high-growth start-ups. In the year 2012, Mohanalakshmi realised the need to make the academic education relevant for students. This instilled an idea to start a curriculum development in Singapore with the help and guidance of the Ministry of Education, Singapore. The exclusive entrepreneurship curriculum focussed on kids under 18 who were ambitious and had 10 years of futuristic development in their minds. Developing it in a fun and innovative way that is easily implemented by schools, the curriculum focuses on helping students transform their ideas into business pitches and introduce them to the investors to buy investments for their business. Kidspreneur In 2012, Mohanalakshmi founded Kidspreneur which is Asia’<nowiki/>s first entrepreneurial education provider that has partnered with 320 schools across Asia and has trained about 15,000 students apart from 5,000 to 8,000 students who have received in-person training outside school partnership. In India, Kidspreneur has impacted over 15,000 students and approximately 4,80,000 students across Asia. Today, Kidspreneur curriculum has signed up with 75 schools across Tamil Nadu and is a teacher-led entrepreneurial program. . * * * Kidspreneur PRO teaches the nuances of stock, bonds, CDs, venture capital, real estate and collectibles through a part virtual, part real model. Kids are encouraged to research on the companies they can invest in. This program focuses on learning about investments and acquiring personal finance skills that are lacking in the regular school curriculum. KIDx Asia Mohanalakshmi also started KIDx Asia. It is an exclusive platform for kids between 7 to 18 years where they pitch their business and social entrepreneurship ideas to the investors, mentors, industry experts, educationists to bring solutions for the problems of today and tomorrow. Business collaboration is established by the children who are encouraged to share their career ideas with fellow students, parents and entrepreneurs. Mohanalakshmi is currently preparing her students for a professional conference to be held at Station F, the campus of the world’s largest start-ups in France. The second edition of KIDx witnessed a great success in India followed by a grand finale that was held in Bangkok, Thailand. In 2018, at a conference in Thailand 15 children received an investment incentive of $ 30,000 each for the business idea put forward by them. International Business School of Washington, USA During the coronavirus pandemic leading to closing doors for students to public education system, Kidspreneur collaborated with International Business School Of Washington to provide Online Course MBA - Young CEO For Kids And Teens. Authorized by the Singapore Ministry of Education, this project-based learning program gives children the opportunity to learn how to start and operate their own business and also learn 21st-century skills.
