Milica Lukic

Milica Lukic (born February 24, 1959) is a visual artist and abstract painter working on installations in sculptural projects.
Education
Milica Lukic, born in Belgrade, studied and postgraduated painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade (1979-85), granted by the University of Arts Belgrade (1984), by Kultur Steiermark -'24 Internationalen Malerwochen in der Steiermark' (1989) Graz, granted by Spanish Government, study in Madrid Complutense (1989-90) -interested in Spanish avantgarde. From the 1990s she works together with Miroslav Perkovic. At the Círculo de Bellas Artes of Madrid (1995) they both participated on sculpture workshop directed by Richard Deacon, distinguishing his contribution in their further projects. Engaged on contemporary theoretical tendencies, both attended the seminar Rhétoriques de la fin du siècle (1998) and met Jacques Derrida.
Lukic′s work with Perkovic
Working together since the 1990s, the visual artistic duo developed and realized a series of visual art projects, working on sculpture of technological factory, using industrial techniques and materials in sculptural projects realized by industries in situ. For two decades, the projects and works were funded and collected by Soros Foundation, SartidArt US Steel, Unión Fenosa and the Bancaja Foundation. The projects are exhibited at the Círculo de Bellas Artes of Madrid, Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, Faculty of Fine Arts in Valencia, Handwerker Gallery at Ithaca College and Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. The widely developed 'Cityproject' (1999-09), funded by Kodak and Ritam Association, generated work on photographic and video sessions in Paris, London and New York City, at the Cité and Acme studios, as well as sculptural work, realized by Valencian industries in situ. The project and critical essays 'Conversions' was presented at the show of , Barcelona.
Private life
Lukic has lived in Spain since 1992, today in Valencia.
