David Beckmann

David Beckmann played flute, recorder, and harmonica for the Alan Davis Band. He was also a background vocalist. The band was active from 2001 through 2003.
The Alan Davis Band first performed together as cast members in Duke University's production of The Who's Tommy in 2000. Following the success of that production, the four individuals began discussions about forming a group that would combine the vastly different backgrounds and artistic influences of each member. Due to other musical commitments, it took over a year before the four musicians came together again. Adam Sampieri, Adam Lord, David Beckmann, and Ryan Senft joined forces in 2001 under the name "Alan Davis Band". They quickly became "campus rock stars" and were the most prolific musicians at Duke in the early 2000s. They performed numerous benefit concerts, club gigs, and private events. They also united as a theatrical group for Duke University's productions of Godspell (2002) and Little Shop of Horrors (2003).
