Michael Henson

Michael Henson is a Cincinnati based teacher, activist and writer. Born April 14, 1947 in Sidney, Ohio he moved to Cincinnati to attend Xavier University where he majored in English. He later received a masters in English from University of Chicago. Michael Henson is the author of Ransack, a city novel, and A Small Room with Trouble on My Mind, stories of the Ohio River Valley, both published by West End Press. His latest work, Crow Call, is a collection of poems in response to the death of his close friend Buddy Gray. Richard Hague has likened Henson's poetry to that of Blake, Whitman, and Tennyson.

Michael Henson taught creative writing at Xavier and continues to teach at Cincinnati State and Technical College. Henson has also worked for the Urban Appalachian Council on environmental justice projects.
