Warrior Diplomat (Book)
Waltz's book Warrior Diplomat is a summary of the war in Afghanistan from the author's dual perspectives on the battlefield and from the homefront. It was endorsed by former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates as a "must-read, first-hand examination of the Afghan war." Publishers Weekly says "Waltz succeeds in his goal of explaining how the war in Afghanistan has been executed, making a case that the continuing chaos that nation endures is 'directly connected' to the U.S. national interest." The book helps readers "understand how America’s war in Afghanistan was fought so hard, for so long, to so few measurable results." GoodReads readers give the book 4.5 out of 5 stars, citing its "unique perspective into the Global War on Terror".
