Siddhanth Lohia (born October 19, 2005) is an Indian chess player who represents his country India in age group and rating chess tournaments all over the world. He is an Arena International Master (AIM), a title awarded to players who maintain a rating of over 1700 points in the FIDE Online Arena. Biography Siddhanth was born in Mumbai on October 19, 2005 to parents Sushir and Sheetal. Interested in playing competitive chess at the age of six, his parents enrolled him into a local chess academy in Mumbai. Realizing his potential after his first rating tournament where Siddhanth exceeded his parents expectations his parents decided to make him play the game seriously and Nagesh Guttula, CEO of South Mumbai Chess Academy started coaching him. They started to practice regularly although his parents did not restrict him from distractions such as television,computer games, holidays, meeting his friends ,etc. In January 2013 after Siddhanth came 2nd in the Asian Schools Chess Championship after defeating chess players like , Sindarov Javokhir, Mahitosh Dey, Balaji Guttula, Head of coaching at South Mumbai Chess Academy, a Fide Master started coaching Siddhanth. Balaji improved Siddhanth's game and further developed his potential which helped do well in many tournaments.
