Michael G. Cox

Michael Cox (Born June 18, 1985) is a candidate for the 25th New York State Senate District. He was formerly an advisor in the Obama administration, and to Congressman Dan Maffei, and Congressman Gregory Meeks. Cox was also appointed by the Obama Administration to the United States Department of Commerce where he worked to advance economic agenda.
Cox is the co founder of Business Sunday - a federal economic initiative to support growing businesses.
Federal Work and Achievements
Cox started his work in government as a policy advisor to Dan Maffei and Gregory Meeks on issues of education, labor, small business, healthcare, criminal justice, and civil rights issues in order to combat the systematic injustices he witnessed.
In July 2016 Cox received a certificate of appreciation from a public high school in Queens, New York where he helped secure funding to rebuild a music studio.

Michael Cox is a candidate in the Democratic primary against incumbent Velmanette Montgomery for the 25th State Senate District.
His platform is centered on increasing social mobility and breaking cycles of poverty.
