Michael Epp (born 19 September 1983) is a German-English stage and screen actor. He made his international film debut opposite Robert Pattinson in the historical mystery drama Childhood of a leader(2015). The film had its premiere at the 72nd Venice international Film Festival and won two awards; Best director and Best debut Film. His other notable films include the Michael Apted thriller Unlocked(2015), the Toni Servillo film "le confessioni" and the action film Collide(2016), also starring Nicholas Hoult, Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley. His television roles include the NBC crime series Crossing Lines(2013), the german ARD award winning miniseries Weissensee(2012), the BBC / the Weinstein company produced historical miniseries War and Peace(2015) and s upcoming WW2 miniseries SS-GB(2016). Epp has also performed on German and American stages. In New York City, he starred in Arthur Miller's American Clock, Maxim Gorky's Summerfolk and David Hare's the bay at Nice. All three plays were directed by the award winning Austin Pendleton. Early life and education He was born in Konstanz, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. His mother, Gillian, is from London and his father, Franz, is from Konstanz in Germany. He was raised bilingual, speaking english to his mother while German to his father. In 2002, he moved to New York where he lived for almost 8 years. In 2010, he moved to Berlin and now spends his time between London and Berlin. Career Michael studied acting at the HB Studio in New York when his teacher, director Austin Pendleton trusted him with the lead part of Vlass in his upcoming production of Gorky's "Summerfolk". They would go on and work two more times together in Arthur Miller's "American Clock" and David Hare's "the bay at Nice". After moving back to Germany, he appeared in many Films and TV Series. Most notably, the ARD Miniseries "Weissensee", for which the cast won many awards. In 2012, he appeared in the NBC Series "Crossing Lines" opposite William Fichtner and Donald Sutherland. Personal life Shifting between German and international / North American films, Epp splits his time between London and Berlin. In 2015, he married his fiancee Luise Mueller-Hofstede.
