Melissa Gill

Melissa Gill (born on May 4, 1989) is an American Alpine ski racer specializing in speed events. Gill was born in Jackson, Wyoming where she joined her first ski organization Jackson Ski Club . Melissa is now a current member of Rowmark ski academy. Gill is one of America's top ski athletes.Melissa Gill known for being one of the youngest ski racers to qualify for Us National Championships as a FIS athlete.

2002-2003

. While on the Jackson team in 2003, she qualified for J3 and 4 Jr. Nationals at Big Sky, Montana. She placed 4th in the Super-G, 18th in the Downhill, and 9th in the Giant Slalom.

2003-2004

This season Melissa qualified for J3 and J4 Jr. Olympics at Sun Valley, ID. She placed 6th in the Super-G, and 5th in the Slalom.

2004-2005

In 2005, at the age of 15, She qualified for J2 Jr. Olympics at Sugarloaf, Maine. In January 2005, her first year of FIS, Gill competed in her first FIS Speed series in Big Sky, MT and placed 2nd and 6th in the Downhill, and 9th in the Super-G.

2005-2006

In 2005, at Mammoth Mountain, Melissa placed 4th and 5th in the Slalom. In January 2006, Gill excelled in Speed and placed 3rd and 1st in the Downhill at Big Sky, Montana and placed 1st in the both the Super-G's. That same season Gill, came in 3rd in a Giant Slalom FIS race at Jackson, Wyoming. With her stellar results, she qualified for J2 Jr. Olympics in Sun Valley, ID. She placed 2nd in the Super-G, 2nd in the Slalom, and 5th in the Giant Slalom. With those results Gill qualified for Us Alpine National Championships and placed 27th in the downhill. She also participated in her first Alpine Nor-Am Cups in Big Mountain, Montana.

2006-2007

Her outstanding results for the 06-07 season were; two 2nds in Giant Slalom and a 1st in Slalom in Schweitzer, Idaho, 17th in Slalom at Canadian National Championships, and 18th in a [ FIS race in Alyeska, Alaska.

2007-2008

At Melissa's first race of the season, a FIS Downhill Alpine Nor-Am Cup, she fell in the training run and broke her Fib-Tib.
