Keegan Taberner

Keegan Taberner (born March 22, 1994 in British Columbia) is a Canadian mountain biker.
Keegan Taberner is a young, mountain biker racing the Island Cup, and BC Cup Series, who is focusing on downhill mountain biking. Keegan is currently living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. he began riding bikes when he was only three years old. At the age of fifteen Keegan bought his first downhill specific mountain bike, and has been competing ever since.
He is currently competing in the "Island Cup Series" located on Vancouver Island, and has finished "Dodge City Downhill" in Cumberland, BC with a finish time of 02:58.33 . He went to train for the Port Alberni #2 Island cup, but was unfortunately injured and had to receive six surgical sutures on his upper lip due to a deep laceration. When race day came, he could not compete. On race number three - Hammerfest, in Errington, BC - Near Parksville, BC. Keegan had an unfortunate crash in practice which resulted in abrasions on his right arm. However, he went on to race and had a respectable finish time of 03:30.13 , even with the injured arm. Keegan says, "I really wish I could have gone faster, I look back on my race run and I realize I took many sections much too slow - I guess it was the fear of injuring myself further..."
Racing Equipment
Keegan Taberner is currently racing on a highly specialized race bike made by Norco Performance Bikes, He rides the top of the line bike called the "Team DH" He rides the 2009 Model during the 2010 season due to lack of funding and sponsors. However, he says, "I really like the bike, it seems to handle all types of terrain very well. The World Cup Boxxers and Fox DHX 5.0 seem to handle the rough stuff very well!" Keegans bike is outfitted with top of the line Fox Racing Shox in the rear and Rockshox Boxxers in the front, made by the SRAM Corporation.
