MC Q-Bah

MC Q-Bah (real name Reinout van Gendt, born 1983) is a Dutch television host, MC, radio disc jockey, journalist and writer. He writes and interviews in English, Spanish and Dutch and is also known as Q-Bah. Next to some musical success, Q-Bah is widely known for his entertaining interviews with urban superstars, when they come to Holland. During the Gumball 3000 Q-Bah was the first reporter to talk to Xzibit on camera, after the Dutch police revoked the rapper's driver's licence (because of speeding). In another interview he got Akon to do a TV commercial on Dutch television with local rappers Ali B and Yes-R.
Journalism
Q-Bah was born in Leiden but later moved to Santiago De Chile. He came back to the Netherlands to study Journalism. He later on contributed to (and co-founded) urban platforms as StateMagazine.nl and the Dutch edition of Vibe. He was also an editor for Nieuwe Revu, Algemeen Dagblad, Quote and Quote 500. In his early days Q-Bah made the newspapers with an undercover report about the Dutch railroad company Nederlandse Spoorwegen. He became a train conductor to write the article. He was one of the last journalists to interview late Dutch writer Gerard Reve. And a story about mediamogul Derk Sauer made the papers, when Q-Bah found out in Moscow that Sauer wanted to sell his million dollar company Independent Media, which he did later on..
Music
As an MC Q-Bah has contributed to the cd's of Dutch stars like Ali B, Partysquad, Darryl, Brace and Ziggi Recado. He has also collaborated with Wycleff Jean, Perquisite, Rene Phillips 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor, Chuckie, Maxima Alerta, Alterego & Baldylox, Masta, Los BK-Clan and Carlos Barbosa.
Radio
Q-Bah has a daily radioshow on urban radiostation FunX. He is also the radio programmer of FunXDance.nl, a station that was officially launched by Don Diablo.
TV
Q-Bah has interviewed several urban stars on camera such as Akon, Sean Kingston, Shaggy, Tarkan, Snoop Dogg, Sean Paul, Beyonce, Xzibit, Daddy Yankee and Shakira, to name a few.
Olympics
Also, during the 2008 Olympic games, Q-Bah went to Beijing with a camerateam and teamed up with Chinese rapgroups The Dragon Tongue Squad and Ying Sar..
Events
Q-Bah is the official host of festivals such as the Rotterdam Summer Carnival, the Pleasure Paasparty and Latin Village.
