Paul Hocker

Paul Hocker (born in Barnet, London January 18, 1968)

Paul Hocker is a writer, performer and advocate for children's play. He is the author of The Cally Kids Play Inclusive Games a compendium of great games for all children to play and has had short stories published including Bad December featured in the collection Parenthesis, published by Comma Press in 2006. He is currently writing a book on the Beatles due for publication November 2009 and has also finished a 12 story collection of short stories with the common theme of dysfunctional relationships.



Paul Hocker attended the University of Aberystwyth and the University of Montana and in his teens was a member of the Chicken Shed Theatre Company. He has written for children's television with commissions from CBBC, Nickelodeon, and Kids Discovery channel. Hocker is also working on a Lottery funded project for London Play to roll out 100 street parties across the captial.


In November 2008 The Mail On Sunday revealed Hocker
as the prankster behind the 24 Hour Emergency Philosopher van seen around London. Among the resulting attention Hocker gave radio interviews with London's LBC and Toronto's breakfast show on Virgin radio.
