Matthew Burgess

Matthew William Burgess (born 3 April 1973) is an entrepreneur, lawyer, author, and public speaker. He attended Queensland University of Technology, and graduated in 1996 with a (Accountancy) and a Bachelor of Law.
Burgess is a founder and director of View Legal Pty Ltd. Previously, he was a partner at Australian law firm McCullough Robertson from 2002 to 2014. In 2005, he was appointed to the board of McCullough Robertson, where he served for four years.
In his legal practice, Burgess specialises in tax, business succession, and personal estate planning. He is regularly interviewed by media sources to provide commentary on legal developments in these areas. The focus of Burgess' practice has been providing strategic advice on the impact of the baby-boomer intergenerational wealth transfer and on matters of importance to the small to medium enterprise market.
