Brant D. Imperatore is an American lawyer and lobbyist. He was formerly Counsel, House Financial Services Committee, 2000-02. He is currently with the Washington, D.C. lobby shop, BGR Holding, LLC. Experience on Capitol Hill A graduate of Tulane University's School of Law and the University of Virginia, he most recently served on Capitol Hill as Counsel on the House Committee on Financial Services in the 107th Congress for then-House Committee Chairman Michael G. Oxley and then-House Subcommittee Chairman Richard H. Baker. Imperatore came to Capitol Hill in 2000 as Senior Counsel to the United States House Banking Subcommittee/House Banking Committee on Capital Markets, Securities & Government Sponsored Enterprises. He served as legal and policy advisor to Subcommittee Chairman Richard H. Baker. Professional Background Prior to working on Capitol Hill, he practiced for three years in the New Orleans law firm of Frilot, Partridge, Kohnke & Clements. He was a volunteer for the Bush legal team during the contested ballot counting in Florida that marked the 2000 presidential election, which Mr. Bush eventually won with a ruling from the United States Supreme Court. This places him at the center of one of the most critical legislative areas in the financial services arena for Congress in the year 2010: regulating the currently unregulated market for OTC derivatives. One of his sisters, Leah Imperatore, is married to Chris Albright, New York Red Bulls soccer player, which makes the men brothers-in-law.
