MathLeap

MathLeap is an online math education platform designed to help algebra students understand and learn from their mistakes. Teachers can create quizzes for their classes composed of questions aligned with the Common Core State Standards Initiative. Students show their work using a mathematical expression editor and MathLeap's smart grading technology points out their mistakes.
History
MathLeap was founded by Gareth Aye, a lead software engineer at Firefox. The concept for the program came from Gareth's experience grading physics problem sets as an undergraduate at Middlebury College. After grading thousands of assignments, Gareth came to feel that there would be tremendous value in automating personalized feedback for STEM subjects.
MathLeap launched a public beta for pre-algebra and algebra 1 classes with Knox County Schools at the end of January 2016. Within 6 weeks, over 2000 users had joined MathLeap. In March, MathLeap was featured in the Edmodo app store.
