Mary Lupien is an American politician and activist in Rochester, NY. She currently represents the East District on the Rochester City Council. Lupien is running for Mayor in the 2025 election. Early Career Lupien moved to Rochester in 1999 to study Information Technology at Rochester Institute of Technology. She later worked as a Rochester City School District bilingual consultant teacher. Political Career In 2017, Lupien ran unsuccessfully for a Rochester City Council Member at Large seat. In 2019, Lupien won the Democratic primary to succeed Elaine Spaull in the East District, going on to win the general election with 85% of the vote. In January 2025, Lupien announced she is running for Mayor of Rochester against incumbent Malik Evans.
