Bobby Wilson (Pennsylvania politician)

Bobby Wilson is an American politician who is a member of the Pittsburgh City Council. He has served since January 2020 representing Pittsburgh's 1st District.
Family and education
Bobby Wilson was born in Pittsburgh, PA. He is a fifth generation North Sider. He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he achieved a degree in political science.
Career
Bobby Wilson worked at UPMC Montefiore in the emphysema research lab after graduation. While there, Wilson unsuccessfully ran against Darlene Harris in 2011 and 2015 for the District 1 council seat. During his third run he secured a major endorsement by Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto. With the new endorsements, Wilson won the primary against Harris. He subsequently won the general election with 60% of the vote becoming a member of Pittsburgh City Council.
