Mark Molesworth

Mark Dysart Molesworth is an American cinematographer. He is best known for his work on documentary films and television series, such as PBS An Ordinary Crime (2002) which won an Emmy award for Outstanding Investigative Journalism - Long Form, The Triumph of Evil (1999) which won an Emmy award for Investigative Journalism, a George Foster Peabody Award and an Alfred duPont-Columbia Award, Silk Road: Drugs, Death and the Dark Web (2018), which was awarded a Documentary and Factual BANFF, and Basquiat: Rage to Riches (2017), which won the BAFTA Award for TV/Specialist Factual Best Documentary. Molesworth was also the cinematographer on BBC Horizon's Why the Towers Fell (2003), which won an Emmy for Best Documentary. His original video footage of the attack against the World Trade Center on 9/11 was used in Why the Towers Fell, and also serves as official evidence in the United States’ government case against the mastermind of the attack, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Additionally, Molesworth was the Director of Photography for Innocence Lost: The Plea (1997), which followed the case of the Little Rascals day care sexual abuse trial. Both documentaries won Alfred I. du Pont-Columbia University Awards. "Molesworth was also the Director of Photography of Who was Lee Harvey Oswald? (1993), and Mount St. Helens: Back from the Dead (2010). "Throughout his career, Mark Molesworth has worked on documentaries featuring wide-ranging topics. This includes covering climate change in Bush's Climate of Fear, a Colorado shooting massacre in The Batman Shootings (2012), Barack Obama's response to the economic crisis in What Now, Mr. President? (2009), and the Massacre at Virginia Tech for a BBC documentary. Mark Molesworth is the president of Molesworth Enterprises, a film and television production company based in New York City.

Personal life
Mark Molesworth graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Film and Television. He is married to Donna Bertaccini, a journalist, director, and producer. They have three children together, Willem, Pietro, and Soleil. His mother, Dorathy Molesworth, owned and operated the Molesworth Art Gallery in New York before moving to Arizona. His father Gordon R. Molesworth was the president of Molesworth Associates, a financial and technical communications consulting company in Tucson.<ref name=":0" />
