Mark Caldwell

Mark Caldwell is a computer game programmer, designer, and producer. Caldwell joined New World Computing in 1985 as the first employee and worked to finish the first game in the Might and Magic series, released in November 1986. He and Jon Van Caneghem built New World Computing into a gaming power house, shipping popular games like Might and Magic; King's Bounty—later re-titled to Heroes of Might and Magic—; Empire; Hammer of the Gods; Inherit the Earth; Vegas Games; and many more. New World Computing was acquired by The 3DO Company in 1996 and closed down as 3DO filed for bankruptcy in 2003. Caldwell had left 3DO in 2001 and founded Rapid Eye Entertainment. The studio shipped Lords of Everquest in 2003 and struggled to get other contracts before eventually shutting down in 2004.

In 2005, he joined Midway Home Entertainment as Executive Producer and is responsible for running all PC Development, as well as the release of the company's major franchises, which includes the hit titles Lord of the Rings Online, Unreal Tournament III, , and Touchmaster DS.
