Born Maria Chetcuti in the 1957 in Mosta Malta, married in 1978 to Conte David Said, a younger son of [http://www.maltagenealogy.com/libro%20d'Oro/said7.html Principe Carmelo Said, Principe di Bibino Magno] and Contessa Maria Vassallo, 32nd Baroness of Ghajn Rihani, 17th Signorina di Migarro and has four children. Her sons, Gordan and Johann are football players for Mgarr United in Malta. Her husband has been President of Mgarr United Club from time to time and is extensively involved.
Maria Said only took an active interest in politics in Malta in the recent elections for Mgarr, Malta and on her first entry, elected as a Councillor in 2009. Prior to her successful election, she maintain several businesses with her husband and family in Malta. Though lead a life as a housewife most of her life. It is in 2009 that Maria Said has entered into public life with the Council of Mgarr, Malta.
