María Agoncillo-Aguinaldo was the second wife of former president Emilio Aguinaldo after their marriage in 1930 in Malolos. She became the stepmother of Aguinaldo's children during his marriage with Hilaria Aguinaldo. Birth and early life María Agoncillo y Reyes was born in Taal, Batangas; she lived with her parents Flaviano Agoncillo y Encarnacion and Michaela Reyes. She was the nephew of Felipe Agoncillo and later on Marcela Agoncillo. Marriage While in a place, Aguinaldo met his former cabinet member Felipe Agoncillo alongside his wife Marcela. During their meeting with each other, Marcela introduced her nephew María to Aguinaldo making their first interaction with each other. Aguinaldo married her in Barasoain Church on July 14, 1930, with her mother still alive and present at her wedding with Aguinaldo. Death On May 29, 1963, María Agoncillo died in Quezon City at Veterans Memorial Hospital. One year later, Aguinaldo would also die at the same place where María was admitted for her sickness.
