Claire Burke Colton (b. 1935), born Claire Colton is an Irish-American Author and member of the Kennedy family, cousin of former 35th U.S. President John F. Kennedy. She is known for her involvement in Boston, Massachussetts local politics. She also made notable contributions and efforts to help her cousins JFK and RFK in their political campaigns. Early life Claire Colton was born to Irish immigrants from County Wexford and County of Donegal, Ireland. She married Charles Joseph Burke, Jr. in Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts on February 4th 1976. They had one child named Joseph Burke Colton who died of still birth (Kennedy curse). Writings Claire is known for her authoring of Children's books that were read to many of the 3rd generation Kennedy family children by their mother, Rose Kennedy. Many of these stories were in fact read to John F. Kennedy. |
