ManhattanGMAT (MGPrep, Inc.) is an American educational preparation company. It was created in response to increased competition among MBA programs and as a result, the growing demand for high scores on the GMAT® exam (Graduate Management Admission Test). It offers test preparation exclusively for the GMAT, the entrance exam for business school. The company was founded in 2001 in New York City by Zeke Vanderhoek, founder of the TEP charter school and a former New York public junior-high school teacher.. The company's mission is to provide students with the skills and strategies essential for success, given today's higher standards for what defines a competitive GMAT score. Currently, Manhattan GMAT offers on-site classes in most major North American cities, including New York City, Boston, Washington, DC, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and Toronto. *In 2008, ManhattanGMAT received the New York Award in the Test Preparation Instruction category by the U.S. Local Business Association *As of November 2008, enrollment for test-preparation courses at Manhattan has gone up more than 50 percent in New York and Washington. Test Preparation ManhattanGMAT offers intensive preparatory programs for students worldwide including advanced GMAT® courses (both on-site and virtual), one-day workshops, two-week boot camps, and free GMAT® preview workshops. ManhattanGMAT also teaches on-site preparation courses at a number of Fortune 100 companies, and its Strategy Guide books are available at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com. Instructors ManhattanGMAT employs strict qualification guidelines for its Instructors. Instructors must score at the 99th percentile (currently a 760+ overall) on an Official GMAT exam in order to be considered. In addition, every member of the ManhattanGMAT teaching staff must have extensive experience teaching classes and tutoring students before being hired. If selected, all new instructors must go through a 100+ hour training process to guarantee that they meet the company’s standards.
