Manfred Hamilton

Manfred "Manie" Hamilton (February 9, 1944 - June 4, 2005) was an Australian body-builder and personalised trainer. He won the title of Mr Universe (over 60 years) in Germany for the [http://www.gmv.com.au/default.asp?pageidcontestresults&templatecontent&sid=153 2004 WFF Universe] at the age of 60.
Family and personal life
Manfred (Manie) Hamilton was born on February 9, 1944 in Calcutta, India. His fitness began at the age of 16 when he started bodybuilding. He also expressed himself through the world of art and won The Pundit Nehru, The Prime Minister Of India Art Award, for serval years running. He joined General Industries as an apprentice in engineering in 1962.
He later joined a band, Mike Man and Owen, in which he was the drummer. The band travelled to Kathmandu, Nepal. Upon his return to Calcutta he joined the Merchant Navy and sailed on a Greek ship called Cape Nerate and travelled the world three times over. 1970 he met his wife "Winifred,‘Winnie’ Hamilton" they married on March 6, 1971.
In 1972 after moving to Melbourne, Australia On April 9 1975, their first son "Tristan Hamilton" was born.
10 years later, August 22 1965 their second son "Kaz Hamilton" joined the family sortly after they moved to Brisbane, Queensland.
Career
In 1997, He started his own personalised training studio, "Manie's Personalised Training" in his Brisbane home,
In 2003 It won the Wynnum Herald Fitness and Sport Business Achiever Award.
Death
Manie Hamilton passed away in his home in Brisbane, on June 4, due to Coronary Atherosclerosis at the age of 61.
Over 300 people attended His Funeral Service in Brisbane on Friday June 10 2005.
