Luke Tyler Luke Tyler is a South African actor best known for his role in Dark Tide, a thriller set in the shark infested waters of the Cape coast-line. Luke was born on the 19th October 1988 in Johannesburg South Africa. At the age of nine relocated to the coastal city of Cape Town. By 16 he had co-written, directed and starred in original productions that scored highly at various competitions. After graduating from High School Luke studied acting for film at the Screen Actors Studio in Cape Town under the direction of Veteran Actress Aletta Bezuidenhoudt. After being seen in various international commercials and Sky TV’s series ‘The Runaway’ his first notable role came in the form of “Luke Brady” in the thriller Dark Tide opposite Halle Berry (Monsters Ball), Ralph Brown (Withnail & I) and Directed by John Stockwell (Blue Crush; Into the Blue). While the movie failed to make a box office hit, Luke was praised for an honest performance and soon landed roles in other films including 20th Century Fox’s Chronicle, Dredd 3D with Karl Urban and Sleepers Wake - a screen adaptation of the acclaimed Novel by Alistair Morgan.
