Little Road Chapel

Little Road Chapel started off in 1908 as St John's Presbyterian Church, where it had a congregation of about 60 people from the local area. The land was purchased by the congregation from a Crown Grant (land set aside for churches) on 26/3/1907. It was insured for 610 pounds, the size of the block was 1 acre, and the municipal value of the land was 35 pounds. The 1915, 1921 and 1949 returns show that a weekly service was conducted at Iona, which alternated between 11am and 7pm (there were other congregations in the charge, served by a minister or a home missionary).

While the church was being built, it was blown down by strong winds and had to be started again.

Later it ceased operating as a church and was used as a residence. In December 2005, the property was bought by Matthew and Alison Eno who converted the building from a residence into a wedding chapel (Little Road Chapel). Matthew and Alison spent two and a half years battling at council and VCAT with the Cardinia Shire and two local farmers before they were finally granted a planning permit to conduct wedding ceremonies and receptions on the property.

The large shed on the property, previously used for repairing tractors was converted into a wedding reception room.
