Loughton Residents Association

Loughton Residents Association (LRA) is a residents association in the town of Loughton, Essex. It has, very unusually, elected councillors at all three levels of local government, i.e. town council, district council, and county council. LRA was founded in 1980 following widespread concerns in the town about development and planning procedures in Loughton High Road. Since then it has campaigned on a variety of issues affecting Loughton, including the creation of a Town Council for Loughton, which was achieved in 1996. The group issues a regular publication, Loughton Life, and maintains a web site http://www.loughtonresidents.co.uk. LRA has been the majority group on Loughton Town Council since 2004. |
